For my quarantine mothers-to-be and their precious babies:
Oh, mamas. This is either a really tough time for you or a super long staycation, huh? My heart goes out to all those suffering, and I know there are many! (I am here if you ever want to chat, whine or complain - or share something pretty incredible, too.)
I read a post the other day and it really hit home. It said, "we are all in the same storm, but we are not all in the same boat." Those words could not be more true, and it's apparent as we look around us that everyone is forced to make adjustments from their "norm" to get through this temporary way of life.
Yet, I truly believe there is so much good that has been created in all of this. I see masks being made by home-bound families, businesses donating food to medical staff, neighbors checking in and reaching out, teachers creating online classrooms, and families coming together for dinners, board games, and household projects with time they would otherwise not have. The virus has not stopped us from doing our "thing;" it's just [temporarily] changing the way we do it - and we are definitely finding ways to do it.
Every day - pandemic or not - we make a choice to either dwell on the uncertainty of the things we cannot control, or make the best of the hours ahead. In these last few weeks, I have been clinging to the silver lining of the quarantine and basking in its joys. Yet, I have suffered a relentless anxiety from feeling absolutely helpless.
I know that staying home IS helping, yes - and I will continue to do it. But I want to help MORE and in any way I can.
When Greater Joy first closed its non-essential doors in March, it meant that a lot of expectant mothers would not get to have their scheduled maternity session or the newborn images they had been dreaming about for months. It is so incredibly important to me that a mother would have beautiful images of her pregnancy and her newborn baby, so I made some necessary adjustments and began coaching clients over the phone through DIY sessions. No, it's definitely not the same as the full, professional experience - it's just different. It's also still a lot of fun. Most importantly, it's proved to be successful.
Through homeschooling, disinfecting groceries, and the other 900 new ways we are doing life, I am so excited to announce that I have put together some resources that I can share with all the moms who feel like they're missing out on this one. To that I say, "Nope! No you are not. I am going to help you."
And what's more? When all of this is said and done and we are back to normal - or at least able to get professional pictures taken - I have some amazing deals I am offering exclusively to families who had a baby during the pandemic.
Check out the resources I've created just for you by clicking the button below. Within these documents and videos, there are "pandemic-only" offers - from editing your DIY images to discounted sessions - and you need to take advantage of them.
I pray strongly that you find joy as you manage this situation and that you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy.
I am always here if you need anything, and I am always happy to help you. I mean those words from the bottom of my heart.
